Casino da Póvoa is Portugal's 'Casino of the North,' located in Póvoa de Varzim approximately 30 kilometers north of Porto. Constructed between 1930 and opening in 1934, the casino features distinctive Garnier-inspired modernist architecture and has been a protected heritage monument since 1977. The gaming floor spans 27,000 square feet with approximately 700 slot machines and 20 table games offering Blackjack, French Bank (Banca Francesa), Roulette, and other games. The facility includes a restaurant, multiple bars, a theater, and an art gallery. Licensed to Varzim Sol under the Estoril Sol management, the casino maintains a year-round entertainment program for gaming and cultural events.
